Students enrolled in the Programme in Business and Economics (Handelshögskolans Ekonomprogram, 5 years = 300 hp) at the School of Business, Economics and Law can choose to continue their studies with a Master of Science (MSc) programme (2 years = 120 hp) within the Graduate School after completion of the first three years. You are guaranteed a study place in a MSc programme, if you fulfill the entrance requirements, within 6 years from the year you were admitted to the programme. (Example: admitted 2009, you are guaranteed to start a MSc programme in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015).
If you were admitted to the Bachelor programme in Business and Economics before 2011 you are offered to be transferred to the same programme syllabus as students admitted 2011. It means that you would also be guaranteed a study place in a MSc programme. The prerequisites and guidelines stated here would be applicable also to you.
You only have to choose which MSc programme you are interested in!
Read more about the programmes here.
Students must meet the following requirements to be able to start studies at the master level:
• Courses from year 1-3 finished.
• English B from Upper Secondary School (gymnasiet).
• Statistics 15 hec (hp) (MSc programme in Knowledge-based Entrepreneurship an exception).
• Programme specific requirements. Read more here.
The student counsellors at the Graduate School take care of your registration for a MSc programme. You do not have to apply on www.antagning.se. You select three MSc programmes and rank them, on a specific form (see menu on the left). The form must be handed in to the student counsellors at the Graduate School on 1 April at the latest. The aim is to give every student his/her first choice of programme. If there must be a selection it will be based on the grades of the courses at the bachelor level (year 1-3). Exchange studies will not be taken into consideration.
Note! Only students who meet the prerequisites will be offered a study place in a MSc programme.
Each year the Graduate School meets students in their 3rd year of studies to inform about the requirements, registration procedure etc. This information meeting is held in September. Graduate School also has an information event called Masters Day in February, where the MSc programmes are presented. Information is also sent out to the students by emails during the period of study.
More detailed information about the courses included in the MSc programmes are presented on the University of Gothenburg Learning Platform: www.gul.gu.se (Note! Different sites for bachelor level and master level)
You are also welcome to contact the student counsellors for the programme at any time.
