How do I apply?
You apply online on www.universityadmissions.se (international students) www.antagning.se (Swedish students). It is the national admissions system in Sweden.
What are the application deadlines 2012?
Application period international students: 1 November 2011 - 16 January
Application period Swedish students: 15 March - 13 May
Deadline for submitting documents international students: 1 February
Deadline for submitting documents Swedish students: End of June (not GMAT/GRE result!)
Deadline for handing in GMAT/GRE General Test score international students: 1 February

When will the admission notification be sent out?
In late March for international students. In mid-July for Swedish students. Once the selection result has been published, you will get an email reminder to check the results on 'Your pages'. Your notification will be accessible online as well as in a printable PDF-file. You need to accept your study place.
What are the entrance requirements?
A basic academic degree. English language requirements and programme specific entrance requirements. Read the full Entrance Requirements.
Is knowledge of Swedish language a requirement?
No.
Is working experience a requirement?
No.
Is GMAT or GRE General Test a requirement?
Yes, GMAT or GRE General Test is used in the selection of students.
What GMAT or GRE General Test score do I need to be eligible?
You do not need a specific score. You compete against other applicants with your score.
Where shall I send the GMAT or GRE General Test result? Shall I send the test result myself?
You must make sure that the test result is sent electronically from the test center to Graduate School. You must also send a copy of the test result to University Admissions in Sweden/Antagningsservice. See important instructions on "How to apply". Please Note! If you are applying for more than one programme at Graduate School, you only need to send one test result (choose the code of your first choice programme).
Is TOEFL or IELTS a requirement?
Yes for international students. But there are exceptions. See "Entrance Requirements".
Shall I send the test result from the TOEFL or IELTS test myself?
The test center must send the test result of the TOEFL test directly to "University Admissions in Sweden". The code is "Sweden 9520". Find more information on www.universityadmissions.se.
You can send the IELTS test result yourself to "University Admissions in Sweden". Make sure that you send the original or an officially certified copy.
I will not have my result of the English language test and/or GMAT/GRE General Test until after the deadline. Can I still apply?
If the test results have not reached University Admissions in Sweden/Antagningsservice and/or Graduate School before the deadline (1 February/13 May) you will not be part of the selection of students. See important instructions on "How to apply".
My Bachelor level studies will not be finished until after the deadline. Can I still apply?
You can apply before having completed your degree. However, you must have finished your studies before September 2011. You need to attach this information to your application, together with a document from your school that proves which courses you are studying at the moment. If you are admitted it will be a conditional admission offer, which is only valid if you can prove your eligibility when the programme starts. Are there any tuition fees?
Yes, for students from outside EU/EEA and Switzerland. This applies to all higher education in Sweden. The tuition fee for MSc programmes at Graduate School is 120 000 SEK or 140 000 SEK per year depending on programme. See "Student fees".
Is there an application fee?
Yes, an application fee of 900 SEK must be paid by students from outside EU/EEA and Switzerland. See "Student fees".
What is the duration of a Master programme?
2 years.
What degree will be received after completed programme?
Master of Science Degree (120 credits).
Is it possible to start the programme in the spring?
No. There is only one admission per year, in the autumn. Next admission is for the autumn term 2012.
Are there any internships included in the programme?
No.
Is it possible to study one term abroad at a partner university?
Yes, term 2 or 3. You will be informed about universities, how to apply etc. in an information meeting in September 2012 (registered students).
What does the academic year look like?
The academic year is divided into two terms: (dates are approximate)
Autumn Term: 1 September - 18 January
Spring Term: 19 January - 7 June
Will I be able to have employment next to my studies in Sweden?
A student in Sweden is allowed to have employment next to the studies. But, please note, you should not plan to earn your living by working in Sweden since the master studies require full time engagement.

Can I learn Swedish while studying the Master Programme?
Graduate School does not offer courses in the Swedish language for international students, but the University of Gothenburg usually does. Please contact The Department for Swedish language at svenska.exp@svenska.gu.se.
