Admission process 2012 for Knowledge-based Entrepreneurship

In addition to the Swedish centralized application system (Step 1), the selection process for the programme Knowledge-based Entrepreneurship (KBE) involves individual dialogues between students and the programme representatives (Step 2).

The final selection of students for KBE is based on:

1) if you meet the entrance requirements (Step 1),

2) GMAT/GRE revised General Test (Step 1) and

3) the outcome of the dialogue in Step 2.

Note that Step 2 may take place at the same time as your application is processed in Step 1. To be contacted for an individual dialogue does not mean that you have automatically passed Step 1.

Step 1: Application through www.universityadmissions.se (international students, 1 November 2011-16 January 2012) and www.antagning.se (Swedish students, 15 March – 13 May 2012).

Please follow the directives in Step 1 carefully, including GMAT/GRE revised General test instructions on the Graduate School website www.handels.gu.se/gs.

Step 2: Dialogue between student and programme representatives.

The aim of this dialogue is to present the details of the programme to the prospective students, and to assess their skills, abilities and motivation to partake in the education. The final selection decision relates both to the assessment of the individuals skills and to the composition of the class.

In the first instance prospective students who have chosen KBE as prio 1-4 will be called to a dialogue. In relation to this meeting, students will be asked to hand in CV and answers to essay questions. The aspects assessed in Step 2 relate to commitment, excellence in relevant subject areas, analytical skills, ability to work independently and in teams, as well as entrepreneurial experience and/or mind-set.

The individual dialogue will be held on the below dates:
23 and 24 April, 2012 for students from Ekonomprogrammet at Handelshögskolan in Göteborg
28 and 29 May, 2012 for Swedish students (applying in March and April).

The dialogue will be conducted over the telephone or at the University of Gothenburg. (Please make sure that your telephone number and email address in your application account is correct.)
Decision about the selection of students in Step 2 for KBE will be made by an admissions committee consisting of representatives from the KBE-programme. If you have questions about Step 2 in the admission process please contact Anders Nilsson, one of the coordinators of the KBE programme.
