EU and EEA Citizens
The visiting student must be in possession of a valid passport, or other proof of citizenship. If the planned stay in Sweden is longer than three months, a residence permit must be obtained from the Swedish embassy in the student's home country, or from the Immigration Section of the Göteborg Police Department. To obtain a residence permit, the following is required: A valid passport, ID card or other proof of citizenship, a letter of acceptance from the School confirming the students status as an exchange student, proof of means of support (bank deposits, or parents guarantee), a comprehensive health insurance (if the period of study is less than one year).

Non-EU and non-EEA Citizens
The visiting student must be in possession of a valid passport and a student visa. Visa applications should be made directly to the Swedish embassy in the student's home country, and must be accompanied by a letter of acceptance from the School, or the University.
