Education
The School of Business, Economics and Law attracts ambitious, committed and inquisitive students. The School sees it as its task to educate internationally attractive individuals who have a responsible attitude to development in society. The School's educational programmes within law, business administration and economics are among the most difficult in Sweden to get accepted to, and students for the master's programmes come from all over the world.
Close ties to research, which is made concrete by teachers who also perform research, creates conditions that are positive in terms of topicality, dynamics and depth in the education. The School offers an international learning experience with several courses in English and students and teachers from all over the world. The School's Executive MBA is taught in English and includes a study visit overseas.
The Swedish system of higher education is divided into three cycles: first cycle (3 years, including Bachelor´s Degree), second cycle (2 years, including Master´s Degree) and third cycle (4 years, including Licentiate Degree and Doctoral Degree).
The School provides these three cycles in business administration, economics, economic history, economic geography, human geography, law and statistics.
If you do not speak or understand Swedish, there are two alternatives for you to study at the School within the first and the second cycles:
- You can come as an exchange student from one of our partner universities
- You can apply for one of our Master Programmes at the Graduate School (taught in English).
To be eligible for the courses and programmes taught in Swedish, you have to have studied "Swedish B" in the Swedish upper secondary school. A one-year beginner´s course in Swedish is offered by the Faculty of Arts at the University of Gothenburg.
